September calendar of events

Please check the following dates for some of the activities going on during the month of September.

September 28th 2nd Annual Pasta Dinner at Sarah's Winery

5:00pm Please be at Sarah's winery for last minute waiter duty instructions and final setup. Dinner will be served starting at 6pm.

Aug 30th Planning meeting for the Pasta Dinner

4:00pm - We will be having a planning meeting for the pasta dinner we are having at Sarah's Winery on Monday, September 28th, 2009. This is a fund raiser for the troop. We must plan the cost of the tickets, meal order form, waiter duty, and go over the menu. WE NEED THE PARENTS TO ATTEND.

Sept 2 Wed. meeting

6:00pm meeting. Plan on picking up the tickets to sell for the Pasta Dinner at Sarah's winery on the 28th. We will practice waiter duty and kitchen duty. Please try to attend.
If you are fishing on the 13th, you can bring your pole and have new line put on and pick up your fishing tackle.

Bike Ride on Sept 6th

We will meet at the Boston Mills station by 4:10pm and board the train at 4:35pm, we will take the train south to Botzum farm. We will bike ride north to the Boston Mills station and get there around 6-6:30pm. Bring $2.00 for the train ride and $2.00 for candy on the train.
P.S. Bring a camera and work on the photography merit badge.

Fishing on Sept 13 and Sept 20

Fishing trip on Lake Erie. Meet at the moose parking lot at 4:45am. We leave the lot at 5am to be at Wildwood State Park by 6:00am, the boat leaves at 7:00am.
You should bring the following; lunch, snacks, drinks, sun block, sea sickness pills or patches. You can bring your own life jacket, but they will supply them on the boat. You must bring a fishing pole. If you need one call Jim Timmons at 330.813.0071. Jim will have hooks ready.
The boat will dock at 2pm, and we will come back to the Moose Club and clean fish and cook some. This is a good opportunity for the fishing merit badge. Bring a camera too and you can work on the photography badge.
P.S. Everyone 16 years old and up must have a fishing license. A one day license is $11.00, and this can be purchased at the Wildwood Marina.

Sept 16 meeting for fishing

There will be a meeting at the Moose club for anyone going fishing on the 20th. Bring your fishing pole and have new line put on and pickup fishing tackle. The trailer will be loaded for the trip and help is needed to get ready to go. We will also work on cleaning the meeting room.

September 20th Bike Ride

If you are not fishing on the 2oth, there will be a bike ride. Please meet at the Peninsula depot at 2:45pm, the train leaves at 3pm. It will take you north to the canal visitor center and then you will ride your bike south back to Peninsula. It's a 10 mile ride and bring $2.00

MooseTroop Update: 08/12/09

Just a few reminders:

• This Saturday, August 15th is our next court of honor. It will be at the Moose Club pavilion. The program will start at 5pm and dinner will be at 6pm. We will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. Please bring a side dish to share. The scouts will be awarded their badges from summer camp.
• The scouts are going shooting on August 22. If you are interested in going, we will need to know by this Saturday (Aug 15). There will be a sign up sheet at the court of honor.
• If you are going fishing on the Sept 13 or Sept 20. The money is due on Saturday, August 15. The scouts are $15.00 and all others are $32.00.

Also, to fill out on-line tour permits, we need the parents who are potential drivers for events (like the shooting event on 08/22) to fill out the form attached.  We specifically need the make/model/year of vehicle, # of seat belts, your driver's license, and your insurance on the vehicle per person/incident and property .  It typically is $50/$100/$50. Please bring this form with you on Saturday.
